To shed light on some of the history of this day, Bastille Day is a holiday in France, marking the anniversary of the fall of the Bastille on July 14,1789 in Paris. Originally built as a medieval fortress, the Bastille was later used as a state prison for political prisoners, directed by royalty. Bastille had come to symbolize the harsh rule of the Bourbon monarchy. The taking of the Bastille signalled the beginning of the French Revolution, and it thus became a symbol of the end of the ancient regime.
We hope to see you in our store on Bastille Day!
Stay beautiful, Jackie and the Penchant Design Team
